We're home!

See all his outfit changes... somehow they keep getting dirty!
Proud Mamaw

We have been home from the hospital for 5 days now and are getting adjusted to our new schedules. Sleep anyone?? Ty's mom was here until Friday and was SUCH a blessing to us. I think I only changed 3 diapers the entire time she was here! She would also help out at night when Colt was fussy and wanted to cuddle with someone. My mom came on Friday and has been cooking and cleaning up a storm! It's nice to have such wonderful women to help out and make sure Colt gets proper care and that I can recover without pushing myself too hard.

Colt is such a cutie pie (really, he is. I'm not just saying this as his mother) ... we enjoy watching all of his little faces and listening to his little voice. He doesn't cry very much, just when he needs something. The funniest thing to me was the first time I changed his poopy diaper and all of a sudden a little fountain of pee started spraying him in the face, soaking the changing table and his clothes. This has happened several times and I am trying to get better at covering this area of his body when changing diapers.

In other news, Ty's grandma, Meemaw, passed away on the 4th of July, the same day we came home from the hospital. She got to see pictures of Colt and listened to him crying over the phone before she passed. She was such a joyful woman and had a punny sense of humor which she always used to try to encourage others. Ty will be heading to Austin/Marble Falls on Friday for the memorial service. (He'll be at Grace on Sunday if any of you want to see him). Meem will be greatly missed!

Glad to hear you're home, sad to hear about Ty's grandma. Nick told us on Sunday. We're giving you some space, but now it's fair game since Colt is 2 weeks old now. :)

Even I have to agree he's cute (man that's hard for a dude to say) already. It really helps to not have a squished head.

I meant to comment and tell you congratulations when I first read your blog about a week ago. Anyway, congratulations! Colt is precious, and he looks so alert. I changed Jackson's outfit constantly in those first months. (Now he tries to run off naked, so that puts a damper on things). I also remember the pee fountain. Luckily, that goes away. I got really good at dodging the pee and allowing Jackson to soak whatever unfortunate person or item was behind me (not on purpose). The funniest was when I dodged, and he soaked my neighbor's cast on her foot. Hope you get some sleep soon!
