Baby's Best Friend

Colt loves Molly!
The verdict is still out for if Molly loves Colt...
Molly and Colt mimic the Sphinx.

Sorry my posts have been kinda lame lately. I have some better ideas brewing, so stay tuned....

Blah Blah Blog

We've been staying busy, but not with much that is blog-worthy. So, I'll just post a few pictures that the grandparents are itching for.

Also, we are trying to sell my car to fund Colt's college. I may soon be a MINI VAN owner :( I am NOT excited about this "demotion" in vehicles, but know that it will be best for many reasons.

First solid foods

My baby is growing up so fast! We decided to introduce him to his first solid food when we were with family over Christmas vacation. I was trying to wait until he was close to 6 months old, and figured we could try feeding him with some of the Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles around, since they miss so much of his development because we moved 1/2 way across the country from them! We started him off with bananas, and then rice cereal a week later. Here is some video we took to capture the occasions.

Colt's first Christmas

Colt is the only present we asked for this year! I know he's going to kill me for this picture one day. I was trying to go all Anne Geddes, but it totally didn't work.
However, Ty surprised me and got me the camera I had my eye on. Thus, this post is very lengthy and has tons of pictures!!!
We headed to DFW for Christmas and had all of our family come visit us, rather than us take the tour of Texas (Ft Worth, Abilene, Houston, and... Hot Springs AR). THANK YOU SO MUCH to Chris and Kelly Baker for letting us stay in their home and using it as home base, so we didn't have to spend Christmas in a hotel! We had a fabulous Christmas and it was fun to have both sides of the family spend time together. Here is a recap of our trip in pictures:

Here is the first picture I took with my new camera: Uncle Andrew and Colt

Ty is playing with my sister's new iPhone. Boy is he jealous!

Granny Rae and her favorite grandson. We got her a Grandma picture frame, and of course she needed a new picture for it.

Grammy is holding Colt while he ate his first solid food. Yum... bananas!!

Chez and Cody got me a Magic Bullet so I can make shakes and puree Colt's baby food in a snap. Yes, I am planning to make his baby food myself :/

Colt received lots of nice gifts. Thank you to everyone! He opened so many gifts that by the end he was a pro at tearing off the wrapping paper.

Colt is upset because I wouldn't let him eat the wrapping paper.

We took a trip to the Gaylord Texan and took some family pictures. Here is the Dishman clan.

This is my mom and siblings. Thanks to everyone for driving over to see us!

Uncle Dusty is enjoying his new iPod Touch at the Gaylord. Such a stud!

We went to my Grandparent's house on Christmas Eve to see the extended family. Here is my cousin Sarah and her husband Travis, my brother and Grandad.

Colt FINALLY got to meet Aunt Debbie. She is the family member who always gives great, unique gifts. So thoughtful!

Alethea and Grandma J. Notice how Colt is mesmerized by the dog.

Aunt Debbie, Uncle Don and their 3-year-old sons with Grandad. I think Colt likes my Grandad's shiny head.

Here we are on the day we left for Tampa and Dad, Jennifer, and Ashley left for ITALY! Must say I am a bit jealous. Hope you guys are enjoying your trip. We had a great Christmas and it was fun to spend time with everyone. Hope you enjoyed your holiday as much as we did!
